This all levels yoga therapy class invites you to experience a therapeutic yoga approach to practicing yoga. I combine my knowledge of neuroscience, yoga and 19 years learning how yoga assists in healing trauma and teaching students, wellness professionals and more how to apply yoga to trauma healing in their own lives and modalities.
No experience of yoga is necessary, and yet this class is appropriate for yoga students who are quite knowledgeable but would like to experience this approach to teaching. The class will include some lecture about the day’s topic (10-15 minutes), 60 minutes of practice which will be organized in 20 minute sections, and 15 minutes for questions or discussion with Anna after class.
Classes are sold in 4 week blocks for $125. Only 4 students per block. The dates are as follows:
Group One: Saturday, February 9, 16, 23 and March 2nd.
Group Two: Saturday, March 9, 16, 23 and 30th.
Group Three: Saturday May 11, 18, 25 and June 1st.
Each 4 week class will focus on one subject per class:
Week One: Yoga for Acute Recovery
Week Two: Yoga for Resilience
Week Three: Yoga for Post-Traumatic Growth
Week Four: Yoga for Wisdom, Integration & Embodiment
The class can be repeated, as each student will be invited to choose one aspect of their healing journey to focus on in the four week class. Students often find it beneficial (and it is encouraged) to repeat the course, as they learn new aspects and perspectives on their healing process each time. Students may come to support healing from chronic illness, anxiety, depression, grief or other symptom of trauma. We gently foster healing by focusing our awareness and efforts in this way, one step on the journey at a time.
Classes are held at Anna’s studio at 68 Grove Street, in the Grove Professional Building. Suite 4A.
There is free parking in the back of the building and 2 spots in the front, as well as 2 metered street spots. There is a paid parking lot across the street.
